Following on from the theatrical release of The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, The Lost symbol is a story of Cults, Freemasons and of course a race against time to solve and unlock the hidden clues and secret formulas.
Again involving the Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, Brown has deliberately made the title as opaque as possible to keep his ever growing army of fans guessing.
Jason Kaufman, Brown’s US editor, said: “From the first page, Dan’s readers will feel the thrill of discovery as they follow Robert Langdon through a masterful and unexpected new landscape. The Lost Symbol is full of surprises.”
Expected to be the biggest selling book of 2009 and expecting the sort of mad rush to stores that the final Harry Potter book prompted, The Lost Symbol has an initial print run 5 million copies, the largest first printing in publisher Random House's history.
